Conversion of the book library into Markdown format for Obsidian
I am looking for a detail-oriented performer to convert a personal library of books into Markdown (.md) format, for further use in the Obsidian system.
📚 Scope of work:
Approximately 500–600 books
All books are available in three formats: epub, fb2, mobi
+ about 50 books in pdf
🎯 What is needed:
Convert all books into .md format, optimized for Obsidian
Preserve header and subheader structure so that an automatic clickable table of contents is generated in Obsidian
Output files should be clean, without unnecessary tags, technical junk, or artifacts
As a result, I should receive ready-to-use
.mdfiles that can be simply uploaded into the Obsidian knowledge base
🧪 To verify the quality of work, I will provide one test book.
💬 If you have experience with Markdown conversion or have worked with Obsidian — that will be a plus.

Good day! I actively use Obsidian and write plugins. Conversion from epub is no problem. But when it comes to PDF - the most problematic. I will have to clean a lot manually. Even if I optimize everything, it will take at least 10 hours. Considering the complexity of converting PDF format to .md, it may take up to 20-30 hours, if not more. +Let's also account for the time to check the books. I have experience with conversion, so I will be happy to collaborate.
