Migration of products in Shopify (XML or API)
Task. A quality migration of product cards from the supplier's catalog to Shopify is needed.
The data source will be provided in the form of XML feeds (products and separate photos). An option through the supplier's API is also possible — details and keys will be provided to the selected contractor.
What needs to be done:
Prepare a one-time content import - product cards: titles, descriptions (HTML), brand/vendor, categories/tags, EAN/barcode, handle/SEO.
Import photos from a separate XML (all available images for each product) so that they appear in Shopify → Media.
Organize products into collections (auto-collections by rules or other logic — suggest).
Do not touch the price and stock (they will be managed by another tool; please do not map price/stock).
If there are attributes in the source — correctly gather variants (variant SKU, variant images if available).
Create a test package (20–30 items) → approval → full package.
Provide instructions: how to update part of the catalog if needed.
Provide a report: how many created/updated, omissions, errors.
Input data format:
XML feed #1: products (name, description, code/SKU, EAN, categories, etc.).
XML feed #2: photos (links to images).
(Optionally) updating stock with a separate feed — not included in this TOR.
Expected results/packages:
Shopify-CSV with products (creation/update), a separate CSV/manifest for images (if needed).
Files must be compatible with native Shopify import.
A brief mapping-doc: what is linked to what (SKU, field names, collection and tag rules).
At the contractor's discretion: use of Stock Sync / Matrixify or own script (Node/Python) — okay, but we need files + instructions as output.
Deadlines and budget: please specify your proposals (completion time, cost, stages).
