Task: Setting up basic analytics tools and integrations
Goal:
Set up the main analytics and advertising tools to ensure data collection on traffic and user actions on the site. Prepare the platforms for further use after updating the content and keywords.
Current situation:
1. The content on the site has not yet been updated, the structure and keywords will be changed.
2. The main tools are connected:
• Google Tag Manager (GTM): installed, but events and tags are not configured.
• Google Analytics (GA4): data is being collected, but events and conversions are not configured.
• Google Search Console (GSC): connected.
• Facebook Pixel: not added.
• Hotjar: installed, but not integrated.
What needs to be done:
1. Set up Google Tag Manager (GTM):
• Prepare basic tags for:
• Google Analytics 4 (GA4): event tracking (e.g., PageView).
• Facebook Pixel: basic events (e.g., PageView).
• Set up triggers for basic actions:
• Page visits (PageView).
• Prepare a container for future tags (click events, form submissions).
2. Set up Google Analytics (GA4):
• Ensure that basic data is being collected (page visits, traffic sources).
• Set up basic events:
• PageView.
• Scroll (scroll depth).
• Click (clicks on links or elements).
• Link GA4 with Google Ads (for future data transfer).
3. Connect Facebook Pixel:
• Create a Pixel in Meta Business Suite.
• Install it on the site via GTM.
• Set up basic events:
• PageView.
• Check the Pixel's functionality using Facebook Pixel Helper.
4. Check Google Search Console:
• Ensure that data is being received correctly.
• Set up basic site performance reports (CTR, positions, clicks).
5. Integrate Hotjar:
• Check Hotjar's functionality via GTM.
• Ensure that user behavior data is being collected (heatmaps, session recordings).
6. Create a report in Google Data Studio:
• Set up a basic report:
• Connect Google Analytics (GA4).
• Connect Google Search Console.
• Create a dashboard with key metrics:
• Traffic (visits, sources).
• Data from GSC (positions, CTR).
• User behavior (scroll depth, clicks).
What is excluded from the task:
• Complete setup of events and conversions.
• Setting up advertising campaigns in Google Ads.
• Preparation of semantic core and targeting.
Expected result:
