See, the cross-platform development of the mobile application on React Native under the capot contains all the same HTML + CSS + JS that rotates in WebView. Therefore, the limitations in terms of design implementation are almost the same as the web application.
Another thing is that to pass the moderatorship in the Apple Appstore, the design must meet the Apple Human Interfaces headset. Therefore, the main emphasis should be made on this. In the Play Market, the moderation is not as strict as Apple, so there you can often find apps made with the Apple’s headsets, and not Google Material Design.
Although ideal, if you want to provide only quality user experience (UX) for users of both platforms, then I would recommend developing two design versions: 1) under iOS with Apple Human Interfaces; 2) under Android with Material Design Guidlines.
