Optimization and editing of a 3D model for printing
It is necessary to optimize the 3D model of the desktop fountain (woman with a jug) for FDM 3D printing.
This is a functional model:
uses an aquarium pump
water flows through the internal channel
water spills from the jug
Available formats:
STL, FBX, OBJ, BLEND
My setup:
printer: BambuLab P1S
slicer: Bambu Studio
nozzles: 0.4 / 0.6 / 0.8
The model consists of 2 parts:
Bowl (base / bowl)
Statue (woman with a jug)
GOALS:
Reduce printing time
Reduce the amount of supports
Fix problem areas
1 - TASK — BOWL
1.1. Add texture
Add texture of ancient stone (send recommendations)
Requirements:
no fine noise (should print well)
looks good with a 0.8 mm nozzle
only the outer surface
without the need for supports
1.2. Joint bottom ↔ wall
Problem area: layers 2–27
Needs:
redesign the transition
remove sharp 90° angles
add a smooth radius (fillet)
1.3. Print optimization
Reduce printing time
If possible, reduce material consumption
Preserve:
strength
tightness
2. TASK — STATUE
2.1. Reduce supports
Analyze geometry:
reduce overhang
slightly change the shape if necessary
Do not spoil:
face
hands
jug
overall silhouette
2.2. Alternative — supports

If redesign does not yield results:
make better supports with minimal marks on the surface
2.3. Water supply channel
Redesign the inner tube so that it prints without supports

Can simplify hidden or insignificant details

Making an internal channel without a sharp angle is not a problem. With supports, it's a different matter; we need to discuss some points. Can we separate the figure of the woman and the base, make them connectable, and change the shape of the lower base to reduce supports?
