**Technical Task: Layout of the Internal Block of the Book**  

**Title:** *Carnivore Diet Cookbook*

 Book Format:

- **Paperback (printed black and white version)**

- **Kindle (color version)**

- **Page Size:** 8.5 x 11 inches (Letter)

- **Volume:** ~103 pages

- **Cover is not included in the layout**

- **2 recipes per page**

General Layout Parameters (Paperback):

- **Page Size:** 8.5 x 11 inches (216 x 279 mm)

- **Including bleed:** 8.625 x 11.25 inches (219 x 286 mm)

- **Bleed margin:** 0.125" (3.175 mm) on each side  

   **All backgrounds, textures, illustrations that reach the edges of the page must extend into the bleed area**

- **Print margins (distance from the edge of the page to the content):**

  - Top: 0.75"

  - Bottom: 0.75"

  - Inside margin (near the spine): 0.75"

  - Outside margin: 0.5"

- **Safe Zone margins:** text and important elements should not be closer than 0.5" from the trim (not including bleed)

Printed Black and White Version (Paperback)

- **Style:** brutal, "meaty" minimalism

- **Visual Associations:** meat, knife, scattered spices, rosemary, garlic, wooden board, smoky background ("dusty" or "smoky" background) that creates a rough, "brutal" mood, as if the surface is charred or burned.)

- **Graphics:** only vector black and white (no gray tones, only b/w or high contrast)

- **Page Background:** light texture of parchment or rough paper, **with the possibility of extending into bleed**

- **Dividers:** knives, axes, spices — vector, black and white

- **Chapter Starts:** a separate page with a large title + decorative element

- **Micro-graphics:** bold fingerprints, spice dust, decorative icons — all b/w

- **All decorative elements touching the edges of the page must extend into bleed**

Fonts:

- **Recipe Titles:** decorative font with a "charred" or "smudged" effect

- **Subtitles:** bold font (Bebas Neue, Anton, etc.)

- **Main Text:** Lora, EB Garamond, Roboto, Georgia or similar

- **Ingredients:** bulleted list or table

- **Time, servings:** stylized blocks or with icons
Recipe Page Layout:

- **On the page:** 2 recipes, separated by a graphic element (textured line/graphic)

- **For each recipe:**

  - Title

  - Subtitles (“Cook Time”, “Ingredients”, “Instructions”)

  - Ingredients — in a list or table

  - Instructions — numbered steps (1., 2., 3.)

  - Mini-icons (should display well in b/w)

Kindle Version (Color)

- **Layout:** similar, but with color

- **Format:** Fixed Layout

- **Background:** warm parchment

- **Titles:** burgundy, dark red, dark brown

- **Graphics:** color vectors (PNG / SVG)

- **Icons:** spices, knives, fire, meat — with color accents

- **Fonts:** embedded

- **Graphics:** 300 DPI, no loss of quality

- **Adaptation:** Kindle Fire, tablets, PC

Additional Requirements:

- All graphics — vector or 300 DPI

- Final files: PDF (for printing with bleed), EPUB/MOBI (Kindle)

- All fonts — with a license for commercial use

- Mandatory check in KDP Previewer

- Do not use light gray elements
