Congratulations! I am looking for an experienced CAD engineer / CNC modeler with artistic taste to translate an author's graphic sketch into vector drawings for production. The material for the future product will be colored ceramic tiles and natural stone. The elements will be cut on a waterjet cutting machine and decorated on a CNC milling/laser engraving machine.Main project parameters: Base for work: Work is strictly based on the attached author's sketch (panorama of Gdańsk, slightly elevated view). The overall composition, density of development, and rhythm of roofs must be preserved. Dimensions of the finished panel: The final size of the entire picture is 29.5×42 cm (A3 format). Stylistics: It is important to maintain the effect of hand-made. Avoid perfect computer geometry and serious perspective. Lines should be lively, with a slight artistic curvature (imitation of ancient mosaics). Scaling and optimization: Since the overall size of the panel is small, the designer has the right and must simplify small architectural details, change their size, and avoid critically thin areas (the minimum thickness of any physically cut detail, such as a pipe, should be at least 3–4 mm to prevent material from breaking).Technological requirements for construction (Puzzle and Layers):The panel will be assembled from materials of different thicknesses to create a physical 3D volume. Elements need to be divided by layers and labeled in the drawings with the following thicknesses: Background (rear row of houses): Thickness 5 mm. They connect with the middle plan with a minimal optical gap. Bare winter trees at the very top do not need to be cut out – they are designed solely as lines for laser engraving on the background plate of the sky. Middle plan (central row of houses): Thickness 6.5 mm. Foreground (front row of houses): Thickness 8 mm. Drain pipes: Designed as separate parts with a thickness of 10 mm (they should protrude above the entire panel). Insert windows (for the lower and middle rows): Each window is designed as a separate physical part, inserted into the grooves of the walls with minimal gap (optical seamless joint). For the rear row (5 mm), the micro-sized window is made exclusively with a through cut or deep engraving. What should be delivered (two types of programs/layers in DXF/DWG): Program No. 1 (Waterjet contour cutting): All outer contours of the parts (houses, pipes, white windows) taking into account the technological gap (play) between adjacent houses of 1.5 mm (to create an artistic mosaic joint). Program No. 2 (Milling/Surface Engraving): Layer "Deep": Cornices, window sills, door portals, balustrades. Layer "Medium": Large contours of windows, relief of tiles on roofs. Layer "Thin": Mullions of window frames, bricks on chimneys, artistic cracks on walls for an antique effect. For details and clarification of the facades' plasticity (entrance groups, pediments), real photographs of Gdańsk from the internet can be used (views of streets Długa, Mariacka, Piwna from above).Safety and copyright:
Before transferring the technical specifications to the contractor, confidentiality conditions (NDA) are agreed upon. All rights to the developed files fully transfer to the Client. Publication in a portfolio or use of files for external purposes is prohibited. Please indicate the cost and timeline for developing the starter set (test 1-2 houses), as well as the estimated cost of the entire A3 panel. Attach examples of your work for CNC/laser
The estimated budget for developing such a drawing is $500 USD. Additionally, I would be happy to consider an offer for manufacturing such a product on waterjet and engraving CNC equipment and place a larger order.
