За цими дослідними даними апріорі припускаючи, що вибірка керується одним з розподілів , які найчастіше використовуються в задачах теорії надійності, а саме розподілом Гнеденка-Вейбулла або гама або експонентним, вибрати той розподіл, який найкраще описує наші емпіричні дані. Оцінити невідомі параметри цього розподілу і зобразити на одному графіку медіанну емпіричну функцію розподілу і отримані теоретичні криві.
Коментар. Для зручності обчислень статистичні дані можна промасштабувати, поділивши кожне зі значень на 10 000. Ми отримаємо вибірку в діапазоні від 0 до 1.
