Есть несколько "интересностей"
1. Многие браузеры не разрешать запустить звук до хотя-бы клика где-нить в районе страницы. Это можно обойти, но не везде сработает корректно.
2. Я бы не рекомендовала делать подобный автозапуск звука. Представьте себе. Вы сидите ночью, в тишине. Забыли, что у Вас громкость в наушниках/акустике на всю. Заходите на сайт и... Так можно и, простите, в туалет не успеть добраться.
Я бы рекомендовала как раз кнопочку на сайте включения/отключения звука, но изначально не стоит его включать. Это конечно ИИМХО.
