А не проще ли качаемым картинкам присвоить другие имена и закинуть все это в одну папку с изображениями?

Без понятия как это. Потом к ним в экселе нужно прописывать пути. Как не запутаться в 1000 файлов?

А для чего все эти картинки? Если речь идет о товаре, то у каждого должен быть свой id. Обычно все ссылки к картинкам вместе с названием товара пишутся в базу. Каждая картинка привязывается к id определенного товара

Картинки с других магазинов нужны для моего. Потом как во всем этом разбираться работник будет? Как пути к картинкам в Exce-прайсе прописывать?

Данные товара, название и прочее из excel прямиком пишите в базу вашего сайта вместе с новым названием картинок, одновременно перебрасывая сами картинки, но уже под новым названием в соответствующую папку на вашем сайте. В базе эти названия картинок будут прикручены к соответствующему товару
