а обязательно "в after effects с последующим генерированием анимированного svg через lottie"? если просто html? Тем более, будет плавнее, если css transform использывать.

Ну, то делалось давно, его по идее сейчас оптимальнее можно сделать. И там ещё тяжёлый скрипт испльзуется, типа моделирующий столкновения, но вот я тут ещё игрался недавно делал более простую версию, именно чтоб упругое столкновение кругов моделировать https://jsfiddle.net/trushka/xo3sd1g6/ - но его тоже доработать надо, немного подглючивает
