The task of designing the cover for a vinyl record (unfolded size 620x310 mm, front and back) is absolutely clear. Judging by the dimensions (310x310 mm on one side), we are preparing a standard sleeve for a 12-inch vinyl release.

Designing the cover for cardboard packaging of records is pure prepress engineering. I specialize in graphic design and prepress preparation (Startfire Studio). My experience working at the global printing giant RR Donnelley ensures that the layout will be technically flawless.

My technical approach to your cover:
1. Spine Calculation:
In the center of the layout 620x310 mm, the spine must be included (usually 3-4 mm for single vinyl or 5-6 mm for double). I will accurately calculate its width and layout the album title so that it is strictly centered on the edge and does not "shift" to the front or back side during creasing.
2. Rich Black:
If the cover design is dark, I will set the correct composite black color for the cardboard fill, so that when printed, the sleeve looks deep and rich, rather than dull gray. Small text will remain in one color (100% K) to prevent the letters from blurring.
3. Technical Requirements:
I will set the correct European color profile (Coated FOGRA39), create 3 mm bleed on each side, and convert all fonts to outlines.
You will receive a final Print-ready PDF for the printing house and the source file in Adobe Illustrator.
