The problem of "too simple a layout" is familiar to me. For the magazine "Ukrainian Theater," we need not just a picture with text, but visual dramaturgy. The layout should look expensive to match the level of the publication, and at the same time modern, as this is an advertisement for a YouTube podcast.
I am a professional layout designer and graphic designer (Startfire Studio).
My action plan for the next few hours:
1. Concept: I will move away from the "simple" option. I will create a stylish magazine layout. I will use large contrasting headlines, "air" in the text, and the right accents on the photos of guests/hosts.
2. Conversion: The main element is the transition to YouTube. I will integrate a QR code in a way that it is noticeable and scannable, but does not spoil the aesthetics.
3. Technical part: I will assemble the layout in Adobe InDesign. Size 210x290 + 3mm bleed, CMYK, safe zones 10mm — all according to the magazine's specifications.
