Problem:
The old personal account was functionally limited and did not encourage user interaction. Key features like order status history, recently viewed items, and personal offers were missing, resulting in user disengagement.
Approach:
We analyzed the personal account structures of leading Ukrainian eCommerce platforms. Based on this, we compiled a functional list and implemented it using OpenCart modules and custom development.
Challenges faced by Nikitishyn:
The review module did not support listing previously ordered products – custom development was needed
New interface elements had to be styled without disrupting the site's design
Solution:
Expanded the account menu: added "My Bonuses", "Personal Offers", "Recently Viewed", "Waiting List", "My Reviews"
Added profile editing functionality
Implemented a reminder logic to prompt users to review previously purchased products
Results:
After implementation:
Increased interaction with personalized sections
Significant drop in support queries related to order tracking
More users saved products to their wishlists and returned to viewed items
More product reviews were submitted
The personal account became competitive with market leaders
