Project Description Looking for a 2D Game VFX Artist / Sprite FX Artist for a browser-based 2D MMORPG in the dark fantasy style.
I already have combat animations implemented in PixiJS, so no coding is required.
I need help specifically with graphic VFX assets: improving existing sprites or suggesting a new effect with new animation frames.
I will integrate everything into PixiJS myself, so I only need high-quality graphic files and a clear frame structure from the performer.What Needs to Be Done Work is needed on combat effects: sword hit effect; magic hit effect; block effect; shield impact; shield break; miss / dodge effect; dust; speedlines; glow; particles; slash trail; magic trail; impact burst; arcane portal / magic dodge; crit / lucky / counter visual effects.There Are Two Types of Tasks1. Improve Current Sprites For example, there is already a ready effect, but it looks weak.
It needs to: be made brighter; have cleaner outlines; remove excess noise; enhance glow / impact / particles; make the effect more readable in combat; maintain approximate size and direction so I can easily replace the file in PixiJS.2. Suggest a New Version of the Effect If the current effect is weak, a new animation variant can be suggested.
For example: different sword slash; better hit impact; stronger shield break; more beautiful magic block; more understandable miss/dodge effect; new portal effect for the mage; more dynamic dust/speedline effect. In this case, a set of frames or a sprite sheet needs to be prepared, which I will then connect in PixiJS myself.What Is NOT Needed No need to: write PixiJS code; build React; integrate assets into the game; change combat logic; draw characters; create 3D; make a complete animation system. Only 2D VFX sprites / frames / sprite sheets are needed.Format of the Result Assets need to be delivered in the format: PNG or WebP; transparent background; separate frames or sprite sheet; preferably preview GIF/MP4; no text; no background; with proper file names; preferably source file: PSD / Krita / Spine / After Effects / Figma, if available. warrior-miss-speedline-01.pngImportant for PixiJS Assets must be convenient for further integration into PixiJS: transparent background; clear edges; no excess white outlines; the effect must be well readable on a dark background; preferably the same canvas size for frames of the same animation; the center of the effect must be stable between frames; frames must be numbered; if it's a sprite sheet — information about frame size is needed.
