Якщо йдучи темною стежкою ти побачиш маленький вогник, що веде за собою, знай, це житель найнезвичнішої країни- країни світляків, де між непроглядної темряви сотні ліхтариків утворюють яскраві сузір'я. А як раптом комусь із них стане прикро на серці, або ж просто самотньо, його промінець починає блимати, інший світлячок підлітає і вони легенько торкаються носиками й діляться частинкою світла.
Та так було не завжди, були часи, коли світляк міг погаснути умить, мов сірник у безлюдному місці. Все почалось з того, що один із жителів пустив химерну чутку, мовляв, якщо надто часто ділитись світлом, його забракне й тобі самому і твій промінець зникне назавжди. Усі мешканці країни світляків почали берегти своє світло. Ночі ставали усе темнішими, а вогників у зоряному плетиві щораз ставало менше. Серця їх покрились колючим терном, а у очах поволі зникала іскра добра.
Якось, одна із світлячків дивлячись на поволі згасаючих мешканців, подумала: нехай моє світло більше ніколи не освітлюватиме цієї галявини, але я ділитимусь ним, щоб знову її побачити. І НадІ полетіла, торкаючись носиком кожного, хто так потребував цього. Усі дивувались, бо були щиро переконані, що ця відчайдуха от от погасне й камінцем упаде на землю. Та раптом, світло повністю оповило кожен куток темної місцини, усі світляки були яскравішими за сонце, а разом з ними й маленька та хоробра НадІ. Їй не забракло світла для кожного.
