Automatic conversion of Excel price list into import format (Python or Excel)

It is necessary to automate the conversion of an Excel price list with data about textile products into a format suitable for import into CMS.
Output data:
- Excel file with approximately 300+ product entries.
- The table contains fields: name, density, width, length, retail price (UAH/m), unique identifier (UUID).
- During import, not all fields are filled. Some values are empty.
What is needed:
Write a script (Python or macro) that:
- Reads the table from the input Excel file.
- Creates a new table with the following columns:
- name – product name.
- article – first 8 characters from the "Unique Identifier (Nomenclature)" column or generated UUID.
- group identifier – sequence 1, 2, 3... etc. Group = items with the same value in the Product Name column.
- attributes – a string in the format brand:K.tex|width:X|length:Y|density:Z, plus additional as needed.
- price – taken from UAH/m.
- unit of measurement – "m.linear"
Other columns remain empty (discounted price, quantity, etc.). They will be filled manually.
Output:
CSV or Excel file in the target format. The script will be used with new files monthly.
Expected:
- Clear code with explanations.
- Instructions for running (locally or in Google Colab).
- (Optional) the ability to refine the logic in the future.
