1. Project Overview
The objective is the continuous optimization and expansion of a reporting ecosystem integrated with a central CRM system.
Data is synchronized from the CRM to a dedicated SQL Database, where it is exposed via SQL Views to a Power BI environment.
The project tracks research lifecycle data, including financial invoicing, cross-departmental utilization, and team performance metrics.
2. Core Responsibilities
- Report Engineering: Refine existing dashboards and architect new visualizations focusing on research project valuation, user activity, and departmental KPIs.
- Database Synchronization & Coordination: Collaborate with the SQL Database Administrator to modify or extend database Views and schema structures to accommodate shifting business requirements.
- Knowledge Transfer: Conduct advanced training sessions for internal staff. Focus on self-service BI, report navigation, and leveraging Power BI’s native functionalities for agile decision-making.
- Strategic Optimization: Perform a technical audit of the current architecture (1-2 months in) to identify bottlenecks in data modelling, DAX efficiency, or UX/UI design.
3. Technical Requirements
- Power BI Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), and data modelling (Star/Snowflake schemas).
- SQL Proficiency: Advanced capability in querying and understanding SQL Views, stored procedures, and relational database logic.
- CRM Data Logic: Experience mapping complex CRM entities (entities, owners, financial timestamps) to analytical reports.
- Consultative Approach: Ability to translate vague business requirements into precise technical specifications.
4. Engagement Details
- Type: Freelance / B2B Contract.
- Work Model: Remote with scheduled synchronization meetings.
- Collaboration: Direct reporting to the Project Lead; tight integration with the SQL DB Admin and end-user stakeholders.
