Hello! Technically, the task is solved through Acrobat JavaScript — this is the built-in scripting inside PDF, which supports the event handler this.getPrintParams() / app.doc when printing.
How I will implement it:
— JavaScript script tied to the Print event of the document
— When Print is clicked, a unique number is generated based on the date/time + counter
— The number is displayed in a designated form field only when printing (hidden in view)
— Each copy receives its own number due to the increment of the counter per session
— The number does not repeat upon the next opening due to its binding to the timestamp
— The solution is embedded in both PDF files without external programs
