Точно. Этот код делает тоже самое что и функция import_request_variables. Но с точки зрения безопасности это небезопасно ) Поэтому функция удалена с php 5.4. Да и скрипт если честно кошмарный, я бы тоже посоветовал его выкинуть и заказать новый
