I am looking for an experienced literary editor, an editorial team, or a publishing house for the final work on a book in Russian.
My name is Alexander. I am a Buddhist teacher, healer, and health practitioner. I have dedicated over thirty years of my life to spiritual practice, studying meditative, healing, and psychological methods, as well as working directly with people. My main theme is to help individuals become healthier, calmer, more conscious, and happier.
I have been living in Warsaw, Poland, for about eighteen years.
For many years, I promised my students to record what I convey to them in live teaching: about happiness, spiritual practice, inner freedom, suffering, mindfulness, compassion, death, beauty, the body, the mind, and the path of a person in the modern world. Thus, this book gradually came into being.
I am not a professional writer. I am primarily a teacher and practitioner. The book was dictated, then processed, refined, structured, and edited many times. As of now, the manuscript is complete. The main idea is conveyed, the structure is formed, and the text has undergone several stages of purification from template formulations, excessive "neuro-linguistic" expressions, and mechanical editorial decisions.
Now I need a strong, mature, experienced literary editor, an editorial team, or a publishing house that can work not only with programs, neural networks, or automatic tools but primarily with living text, style, intonation, rhythm, and the author's voice.
The book is written in Russian. I think, speak, and dictated this work in that language. Therefore, the final literary editing must also be done in Russian. It is important for me to bring the Russian-language manuscript to a state where I can clearly, accurately, and fully see my own thoughts, understand every editorial intervention, and be confident that the author's voice is not lost.
This work requires a person or team who are proficient in Russian and have real experience working with large book texts. It is important that the editor is not just a technical proofreader but a mature specialist with a good literary ear, capable of working with the author's intonation, the living conversational basis of the text, and the philosophical-psychological content.
At the same time, it is important to note: the Russian-language version will be the first stage and is primarily planned as an electronic publication on relevant platforms. The official book presentation, printed copies, and the main presentation of the book are planned to be in Polish. The next stage will be a quality translation into Polish and a full Polish edition in Poland. After that, an English version is planned.
That is why I am open not only to collaboration with individual freelance editors but also to working with editorial agencies, literary agencies, or publishing houses that can help bring the Russian-language electronic publication to a fully prepared result: final editing, proofreading, preparation of the electronic book, cover design, typesetting, metadata, ISBN if needed, technical preparation of files, and placement of the book on several electronic platforms for sale.
I am interested not only in a separate service but in the final result: that the Russian-language electronic version of the book is professionally prepared, designed, and placed for sale on several relevant platforms.
This is not a fictional novel or an academic work. It is a philosophical-psychological and spiritual book about happiness, Buddhist practice, human suffering, inner freedom, death, compassion, beauty, everyday life, health, and the path of conscious living. It contains personal experiences, reflections, elements of Buddhist teachings, psychological observations, healing experiences, and the living voice of a teacher who has worked with people for many years.
Buddhist education for the editor is not mandatory. It may even be better if the editor looks at the text through the eyes of a thoughtful, educated, attentive person from the outside. It is important to have the ability to work with philosophical, psychological, spiritual, and personal texts. If any terms or places are unclear, they can be marked for future notes, comments, and a glossary.
The main tasks of the editor are:
— to remove remnants of artificial, template, or neural network phrases, if any remain;
— to make the text more human, natural, and literarily mature;
— to work on style, rhythm, linguistic purity, and reading smoothness;
— to preserve the author's voice, the teacher's intonation, directness, liveliness, and personal experience;
— not to turn the book into a dry academic work, esoteric text, or standard motivational literature;
— to help bring the manuscript to a strong final appearance.
The text volume is approximately 500,000 characters with spaces. This is about 278 calculated pages of 1,800 characters with spaces or approximately 12.5 author sheets of 40,000 characters with spaces. I can provide the exact number of words and pages additionally upon request or along with a fragment of the manuscript for evaluation.
This book is very important to me. It is being created not as a commercial project and not for literary vanity. It is an attempt to convey a living teaching that has helped my students and the people I have worked with for many years.
Before starting the main work, I am open to paid test editing of a fragment of the manuscript. Please indicate in your response what volume of text you need to assess the style, complexity of the work, and to form an accurate cost.
I am ready to pay well and fairly for quality professional editorial and publishing work. Payment will be made from a private entrepreneur. From the very beginning, I would like to have a clear agreement or contract with specified conditions: scope of work, stages, deadlines, editing pace, cost, and payment procedure.
Please indicate in your response:
— your experience working with large book texts;
— examples or descriptions of similar projects;
— whether you work with Russian-language manuscripts;
— whether you have experience working with philosophical, psychological, spiritual, or non-fiction texts;
— what part of the text you would like to see for assessing style and complexity of work;
— your current rates;
— preferred format of collaboration;
— approximate pace of work;
— payment terms;
— whether you can additionally help with proofreading, cover design, typesetting of the electronic book, file preparation, ISBN, metadata, and placement of the book on electronic platforms;
— if you represent an agency or publishing house, please briefly describe which specific stages of preparation and publication of the book you can take on.
I am looking for not a random performer but a thoughtful, intelligent, and experienced collaborator or a professional team who will be interested in participating in the completion of an important book with respect for its content, author’s voice, and living human intonation.
