Budget: 1000 PLN Deadline: 7 days
Dear Mr. Stanisław,
Thank you for the detailed description of the current website and your expectations regarding its recreation in a newer version of Joomla. The scope of work you described is fully feasible and does not pose a technical problem.
The proposed solution would involve:
- Installing the current version of Joomla on the server in a separate directory or subdomain, or on my server (for your review during the migration).
- Preparing a new website template with a layout as close as possible to the current version,
- Configuring a new photo gallery,
- Creating empty subpages and a menu, where you will be able to independently rewrite content, photos, and graphics,
- Ensuring continuous availability of the current website during the work.
The old website will remain fully operational until the new version is completed and accepted. The switch to the new website can only occur after your decision.
Automatic content migration
Unfortunately, in the case of Joomla 1.5, automatic migration to current versions of the system is not currently recommended. Due to the significant version difference, old modules, templates, and components (including galleries) are not compatible with the new Joomla architecture. Attempts at automatic migration often end with errors, security issues, or website instability.
For this reason, the safest and most durable solution is:
- Manually recreating the website structure,
- Manually transferring content (as you plan to do yourself).
I would also recommend switching to WordPress, as it is much more user-friendly.
Cost and execution time
Execution time:
5–7 working days from the moment access to the server is obtained and basic details are established (e.g., menu names, subpage structure). I can start the execution right away.
If you are interested, I can also provide brief support after implementation (e.g., assistance with the first content or gallery addition).
If you have any questions, I remain at your disposal. I am also from Poland, so we will be able to communicate easily :)
Sincerely,
Mariusz Kupczyk
