A secure web interface needs to be set up for managing an ESP device via Raspberry Pi without direct access to the local network.

Plan: The Raspberry Pi acts as an MQTT broker (Mosquitto) and simultaneously hosts a Flask/FastAPI backend. The ESP publishes telemetry to topics, and the backend reads and serves data to the frontend (Vue or plain JS). External access is through a WireGuard tunnel or a reverse proxy with Let's Encrypt + basic JWT authentication; no open ports without encryption. Control commands go in the opposite direction: frontend -> API -> MQTT -> ESP.

Key risk: if the ESP loses connection, a command queue with acknowledgment (QoS 1) is needed, otherwise commands are silently lost.

What data does the ESP collect, and is real-time control (e.g., relays) necessary, or is polling every few seconds sufficient?
