Дуже образна і не коректна "відмашка", якщо не виходить рекламувати сайт.

Частично да, дело в сайте. Пересмотрите изменение дизайна на более завлекающий, яркий и понятный. Так же нет карты сайта, нужен более корректный robots.txt и уменьшите длину пути для url.

Та нормальный дизайн. Я, например, если ищу какой-нить товар, то мне не важен дизайн (яркий, привлекающий). Мне важна цена, отзывы покупателей. И при чем ту длина ссылки? На сайте ссылки информативные как для чпу. Возможно стоит подключить гугл мерчант, фб пиксель, раскидать рекламу по соцсетям. Еще подключить блог для создания инфо-контента. Проанализировать с помощью инструментов гугл конкурентов, СЧ, ВЧ запросы, поработать над описанием и ключевиками.
