Плагин DLE для работы со сторонним API

Необходимо разработать универсальный плагин, работающий на виртуальной файловой системе DLE, без правок "физических" файлов движка.
1) При входе на страницу новости, получаем данные из api (в формате json). Запрос к API происходит на основании ID, указанного в доп. поле данной новости.
2) Кэширование полученных данных на определенное время.
3) При получении из API обновлённых данных (которые отличаются от тех, которые отображались на сайте последними), нужно инициировать обновление "даты редактирования" новости (в DLE есть отдельно "дата публикации", и "дата редактирования", обновлять нужно именно второе).
4) Вывод полученных данных в шаблонах краткой/полной новости, с помощью {переменных}, в произвольных местах. Верстка должна гибко настраиваться в файлах tpl, для кастомизации вывода под любой dle-сайт. Уточню, что данные из API выводятся не вместо содержимого краткой/полной новостей, а в дополнение к ним.
