Preparation of a Children's Book for Printing
The contractor will be provided with:
the original Adobe InDesign file;
illustrations;
an example of the print format;
an example of the cover;
an informational block for the back cover.
Requirements:
Book Layout
adapt the layout to A4 format;
adjust the text and illustrations to the new size;
ensure that the main text is at least 13 pt;
check the readability of the text on the blocks, and if necessary, increase the opacity to 80–90%;
make sure the final page count is at least 28.
Illustrations
correct images with incorrect proportions;
if necessary, redraw/extend the background;
the use of AI is allowed only for the background without changing the main content;
check the quality of images for printing;
if necessary, perform AI upscaling.
Preparation of the Book for Printing
Prepare:
INDD file;
PDF for printing (300 dpi, bleed);
JPG/PNG of the used illustrations.
Cover
Requirements:
prepare the cover spread in Photoshop;
format: A4 spread + bleed and folds;
exact dimensions will be provided later;
check the quality of illustrations and correct them if necessary.
On the back side:
place the informational block;
add the names of the project participants;
if necessary, adapt the colors to the cover design;
leave space for a future barcode.
Final Files
Provide:
PSD file of the cover;
PDF for printing (300 dpi, bleed).
