Hello! I need to prepare the files for a poetry collection for publication on an American platform (Draft2Digital / Lulu) [The Lulu site was updated in 2026, but the file standards remain the same]. The text of the book is fully ready, typed in Word, and checked for meaning. Your task is to perform purely technical layout and adaptation of the design to American print standards for print on demand and eBooks. An important feature of the book: This is a poetry collection with a complex graphic structure. The poems have author-centered alignment, as well as complex indents ("stair-step," words shifted right/left from the center of the page). Automatic converters disrupt this structure, so careful manual positioning of words in professional software (preferably Adobe InDesign) is required. Book volume: 234 pages in the original Word (the final number of pages in print format will change, and it needs to be fixed). Language of the book: Russian. What needs to be done (Requirements for the result): 1. File for the print version (Paperback): o Transfer the text to the US book format: 6 x 9 inches (Trade). o Set up Mirror Margins: Inside margin (Inside/Gutter) — strictly 2.2 cm (requirement for books from 150 to 300 pages), outer and top/bottom margins — 2.0 cm each. o Preserve and fix the complex structure of the poems ("stair-step") relative to the new page geometry. o Deliver the final file in PDF format (print quality standard PDF/X). 2. File for the electronic version (eBook): o Create a file in EPUB format with fixed layout (Fixed Layout EPUB), so that on smartphone and tablet screens the "stair-step" and centering do not break when the user changes the font size. 3. Cover (included in the total project cost): o After finalizing the text block layout, fix the exact number of pages. o Download the official cover template from the Lulu/Draft2Digital site for the obtained number of pages (taking into account the exact thickness of the spine). o Layout a continuous cover file (Back + Spine + Front) in PDF format based on the graphic materials/concept I provide. From the performer, I expect: • Experience in book layout for foreign platforms (KDP Amazon, Lulu, IngramSpark, or Draft2Digital). • Work in Adobe InDesign. • Providing a test layout (1–2 of the most complex pages with poems) before starting work on the entire book, so we can agree on the visual representation of the "stair-step." • Upon completion, transfer to me the finished print PDF, electronic EPUB, cover file, as well as the project sources (in case of specific corrections of typos in the future). That is, it is a special aluminum profile for the door frame and door leaf, which is already cut to the size specified by the client. All holes and milling for hinges and locks are included. It only remains to cut the insert for the door to size, from the same material as the wall panel, glue it into the aluminum frame of the door leaf, and the client can implement this task. As of today, we already have clients and sales. But we want to increase sales, and we need your help. So: The product is an aluminum system for hidden doors. It is already prepared, cut to the client's size, and has all the holes for fittings (locks, hinges) and the fittings themselves. This is not a complete technical catalog with dimensions of each wall of the profile, but rather an introduction for potential clients to our product.
