Project Overview
We are developing a premium, futuristic desktop terminal with an AI assistant called "Cube." The device is designed for seamless voice and visual interaction with users in real-time.
We have a clear visual direction and a benchmark image of the form factor. We need a talented industrial designer to turn this concept into an accurate 3D model of the outer surface with perfect proportions, which will subsequently be handed over to a mechanical engineer.
Scope of Work (Design Tasks)
The architecture of the device is strictly modular. The display should remain as clean and thin as possible, with all peripheral elements distributed between two separate blocks:
1. Appearance and ergonomics of the terminal
* Recreate an elegant, organic, and streamlined silhouette of the device based on the benchmark design. The style should be premium high-tech, using a combination of matte high-quality materials and accents that mimic aluminum.
* Develop the optimal tilt angle for the vertical 15.6-inch touchscreen display (portrait mode) and the shape of the stand/base. The device must be perfectly stable and structurally balanced to prevent tipping during active interaction with the touchscreen.
2. Integration of the upper touch module
* A separate rectangular block (the assistant's "vision" system) will be mounted on the upper edge of the screen according to the provided layout scheme.
* The designer must beautifully integrate this module into the overall concept of the device and design its external front panel.
* The front panel of the module should elegantly accommodate windows for the following sensors: two cameras (with a fixed stereo base of ~37 mm), a central radar window (20x20 mm), a thermal imager strictly in the center, and two combined side LED matrices.
3. Distribution of internal volume in the base (hardware guide)
The lower base/stand must provide sufficient internal volume for the convenient placement of the following hardware stack (you do not need to deal with internal machining, just ensure external volume) (the shell leaves enough space):
* Main computer board: NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX assembled with a heatsink and active cooling fan (absolute dimensions: 103 mm × 90.5 mm × 34.5 mm). The board will be positioned at an angle inside the base.
* Two audio speakers (drivers) and a small audio amplifier board.
* Directional microphone.
Designer Requirements:
* Strong portfolio demonstrating industrial design of consumer electronics, smart gadgets, or interactive desktop devices.
* High proficiency in 3D modeling and rendering software (SolidWorks, Autodesk Fusion 360, Rhino, KeyShot).
* Excellent sense of proportions and experience working with organic, smooth, and flowing forms.
Deliverables:
1. High-quality photorealistic 3D renderings of the device from various angles (including 3/4 view, side view, and rear view).
