Budget: 1400 USD Deadline: 10 days
Good time of day, I am ready to take on your order, I will do it in the best way
Description:
We are looking for a specialist to implement an MVP version of a Manufacturability Tracker, which automatically analyzes whether a 3D model created in Onshape can be printed on an FDM printer. The system should integrate Onshape API with PrusaSlicer, run locally, and display the result in the right panel of Co-Pilot (React/HTML/JS) almost in real-time after geometry changes.
Key tasks:
Onshape API
Export STL model from Part Studio via API (keys provided)
PrusaSlicer integration (local, via CLI)
Python script that:
Accepts STL
Runs PrusaSlicer with default parameters for Bambu X1 Carbon (256×256×256 mm, 0.4 mm nozzle)
Reads stdout or output files
Analysis of print errors (Manufacturability Warnings):
Size exceeding limits (Print Volume Exceeded)
Supports required (Supports Required)
Thin walls (Thin Walls)
UI panel on the right (in Onshape or Jarvis style):
Display list of identified issues
Automatic update after geometry changes in Onshape
Technical expectations:
Folder /manufacturability_tracker/ with scripts
JSON examples of analysis
README.md with instructions
.env.example with fields: ONSHAPE_API_KEY, PRUSASLICER_PATH
Test STL files — in Google Drive
Works on MacOS, without OAuth2/authentication
Additional:
This is the first step towards a full-fledged Co-Pilot for drone design engineers. We want to see that after any change in Onshape — a message automatically appears in the right panel indicating whether the model can be printed or not.

Budget: 1000 USD Deadline: 30 days
I have extensive experience in development with Python and others. Specifically, I haven't worked with this API before, but I have worked with various others, and I will figure out these as well.
Budget: 1250 USD Deadline: 14 days
Hello Mykhailo,
Thank you for posting such a well-defined and fascinating project. Building a real-time manufacturability co-pilot is an excellent idea, and I have the specific combination of skills required to deliver this MVP for you.
I've carefully reviewed your technical requirements and can confirm I can meet every one of them. More importantly, I can suggest a more robust and efficient architecture for the real-time updates. Instead of continuously polling for changes, I will use Onshape's Webhooks API (onshape.model.geometry.changed). This is the industry-standard approach that provides true real-time updates without unnecessary server load.
Here is how I will address your key tasks with my specific expertise:
Onshape API & Python Script: As a PCAP™ certified Python developer, I will write a clean, efficient, and well-documented script to handle the core logic. It will securely connect to the Onshape API, fetch the STL file, and manage the entire analysis workflow.
PrusaSlicer Integration: I will build the script to interface directly with the PrusaSlicer CLI. I will meticulously parse the slicer's output to reliably detect the specific manufacturability warnings you listed (Print Volume Exceeded, Supports Required, Thin Walls) and structure them into a clean JSON output.
UI Panel (React/HTML/JS): My full-stack development experience with React frameworks (like Next.js) is a perfect match for building the UI panel. I will create it as a proper Onshape Application panel, ensuring it integrates seamlessly into the native Onshape interface for a professional user experience. The panel will dynamically display the list of issues from the analysis.
To ensure a smooth process, I will follow this clear plan:
Days 1-2: Setup, Onshape API authentication, and Webhook configuration.
Days 3-6: Development of the core Python script for STL export and PrusaSlicer analysis.
Days 7-9: Development of the React UI panel.
Days 10-12: Integration of the backend script and frontend panel, and end-to-end testing on MacOS.
Days 13-14: Finalizing documentation, JSON examples, and delivering the complete manufacturability_tracker package as specified.
You are looking for a specialist who understands the entire stack, from CAD APIs to backend scripts and integrated frontend panels. I am that specialist. I am ready to begin and can deliver a high-quality, robust MVP.
