78 USD We are looking for a layout designer to create a textbook (paper + PDF version)
An experienced layout designer is needed to work on an educational textbook.
Task:
Layout of the educational textbook (approximately 150 pages);
Working with text, tables, images, diagrams;
Preparation of materials for printing (PDF for the printer) and electronic version.
Test task:
To assess the professional level, a test layout of 2 pages must be completed (we will provide a sample text and a general design template).
Requirements for the candidate:
Experience in layout of books, textbooks, or magazines;
Proficiency in programs: Adobe InDesign, Illustrator (or equivalents);
Ability to work with styles, templates, columns, tables, numbering;
Understanding of typography, structure of educational materials;
Attention to detail, adherence to a unified style;
Ability to prepare a file for printing (CMYK, trimming, PDF quality control);
Preferred: experience working with publishing houses or educational projects.
Test task:
Book "Textbook with texts for learning French".
Please do the layout of an excerpt from the book. (1 page)
The first line is a subtitle.
In bold - the titles of the texts. There will be 10 such subtitles in the book.
There are 10-15 texts in each section.
Print black and white
The font should be modern and readable. That is, the font should not be Soviet or old-fashioned.
We want students to see the book as "leisure", "help in learning", "as a hobby". It should be bright, modern, stylish.
Book format6 x 9 inches (15.24 × 22.86 cm) — standard "textbook" size.
