Design and visualization of a case for a collectible set

1. Conceptual Design and Technical Specification
Before moving on to the design documentation, the basic parameters of the product are fixed:
Structural scheme: Book-type box (with a magnetic clasp), case with a hinged lid on hinges, or two-component box "lid-bottom."
Interaction scenario: Sequence of accessory removal, angle of lid opening (ideally $90^ ext{°}$ or $120^ ext{°}$ with limiters), presence of hidden compartments (double bottom).
2. Construction and Materials (Specification)
High density and premium tactile feedback are ensured by the correct selection of material layers.
3. Stages of Development of Design Documentation (DD)
To transfer the product to production (for milling, laser cutting, and laminating), a package of drawings in vector format (DXF/DWG/PDF) is prepared:
A. Unfolding of the frame (Drawing of stamp details)
Solid lines — cutting contour; dashed lines — creasing lines (bending).
Calculation of material thickness compensation: the outer cut of artificial leather must take into account the thickness of the cardboard ($T$) and allowances for folding (15–20 mm).
B. Design of the insert (Internal filling)
Vector contours: Creation of precise 2D cutouts for each accessory based on their 3D scans or accurate measurements.
Ergonomic grooves: Adding cutouts for fingers (grips) for easy removal of small elements.
C. Assembly Drawing
Step-by-step scheme of gluing and laminating.
Indication of milling locations for hidden magnets and hinges.
4. Concept Visualization
To approve the design and control the texture joints, a 3D visualization is created:
Modeling (CAD): Creating an accurate copy in SolidWorks/Rhino (to check the kinematics of opening and collisions).
Rendering (KeyShot/Blender): Adjusting shaders of artificial leather (parameters of matte finish, depth of embossing Bump Maps, stitching with thread) and internal textiles.
Animation: Creating a 5-second video of unfolding/opening the box to demonstrate functionality.
