Greetings everyone!

My name is Iryna, I am a freelancer from Odesa, Ukraine.

In 2018, I graduated from Odesa National University, named after I.I. Mechnikov. I gained a bachelor's degree in the specialty "Ukrainian language and literature".

In 2016, after three years of study, I completed English classes at London School English (LSE) and passed the international FCE test (B2 level).

After graduating from the university and until today, I work in a Ukrainian company that sells imported agricultural equipment; as the one responsible for purchasing and shipping the equipment across the territories of the US and Canada, I constantly communicate with native English speakers, and thus I improve my level of English.

In 2019, I was first offered to do a Ukrainian translation for an indie-game developed by Caligari Games – a foreign computer games developer, and I quickly realized how much I enjoy this process. Poems, songs, wordplay, metaphors – every little challenge brought me a lot of joy!

In 2022, I returned to work with Caligari Games in their new project, and again helped their characters to start to speak Ukrainian.

In the conditions of the war, business almost froze, and under the constant pressure of circumstances and worries about my relatives, this project felt like a breath of fresh air. I dream and hope to continue creating localizations in my native language in the future.
