I have a server constantly running on an EC2 instance. There is a pipeline:
1) users upload video files to my site (using AWS S3 upload)
2) videos go thru short checks
3) some videos go thru compression with ffmpeg and parameters based on the checks in #2
4) the compressed or original (depending on decision in #2) video go to the next steps including AI processing
My request is about #3. Currently the compression is performed by the above mentioned EC2 instance. Since compression is a heavy CPU user, I limit the number of simultaneous runs. As the result, there are situations when videos wait for the compression for a while. I need to convert this process to extendable. The goal is to use spot instances for that. I got already an architecture developed by an AWS certified partner. However, their implementation has bugs. I need to make all this running.
Interested? I can share with you both the architecture and even the code they put together.
