Import conversions into GA4 and linking by ClientID
The task is to teach tracking conversions on a price comparison website, where sales do not occur on our site, but on the store's side. I can only track sales in the affiliate dashboard.
I was thinking about the following algorithm:
1) When a user is on the product page with external links to that product on store websites, access the cookie created by GA, retrieve the ClientID from there, and pass it along with the external link in the subid.
Then in the affiliate dashboard, I can receive a sales report with this clientid.
2) Then upload conversion information via the Measurement Protocol and link them through the clientid.
What I want from the performer:
1) Propose a scheme of how this should work. Either based on the one I suggested above, or a different one.
2) Set up and test the approved scheme in analytics.
3) Write a technical specification for the programmer and answer their questions if any arise during the implementation process.
4) Test the import on test sales. Ensure that analytics indeed links the sale to the correct session.
