I am developing a detective visual novel with quest elements about furries set in the early 20th century, involving the investigation of a triple murder on a train. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a military fairy tale from anime (characters with slight quirks, teasing each other, and despite the cheerful and sometimes joking tone, terrible things occasionally happen). A huge outline (script) of the plot and events is already ready, totaling 300k characters, detailing the main plot points from beginning to end (with some gaps), as well as sprites of all the main participants in the story.

The game itself involves the player conducting an investigation for three characters on one train, where they examine clues and interview passengers.

Considering the gameplay focus of the dialogues, it is necessary to correct speech errors, restructure the dialogues to make them more artistic, and add liveliness and chemistry between the characters where needed. Additionally, taking into account the non-linear order of questioning and clue searching, there should be different reactions depending on the information obtained in other places.

Besides the artistic adjustment of dialogues between characters, it is also necessary to help consolidate all the branching clue exploration into a cohesive whole and structure it for both me and the player, as well as understand what emotions to use and depict.

Everything needs to be done in the articy draft x program, as the novel itself was outlined in it. The program is quite simple to learn and allows for branching choices or storing information for checks. Below is a screenshot from the novel project, showing how it currently looks.

I have experience as a beta reader, meaning I proofread authors' manuscripts to help find mistakes, inaccuracies in the plot, and understand how it is perceived by the reader. In this regard - first work on the logic, and only then its "tasty" artistic design. Doing such work in the form of a fun and engaging quest with pictures is approximately like playing the violin while simultaneously rowing in a boat going upstream. Do you understand? The editor's job is to look at how the words are composed and selected, how they fit together, and what constructions they form, and how interesting all this splendor will be to someone who spends their time reading this captivating story. In other words - if you need an editor - do not complicate his already difficult job, consolidate all the material into one text file.
