1. Project Objective
To develop the design of a branch shredder with characteristics and performance levels comparable to mid-range serial models.
A series of equipment is planned to be developed for shredding branches of various diameters.
A structural analogue of existing solutions must be created, while the external design of the casing and main elements should be original and differ from the models available on the market.
2. Main Requirements
Type of equipment: Garden branch shredder (mobile, on a wheeled base)
Purpose: Shredding branches, twigs, and wood waste.
Type of drive: The design must allow for operation:
• from a gasoline engine
• from the power take-off (PTO) shaft of a tractor
3. Planned Series of Models
Several models of equipment are planned to be developed, designed for different maximum branch diameters:
• up to 60 mm
• up to 80 mm
• up to 120 mm
• up to 200 mm
4. Scope of Development
It is necessary to develop:
• A complete 3D model of the product in SolidWorks
• The design of the supporting frame
• The shredding mechanism assembly
• The engine mounting assembly
• The transmission mechanism (belt drive or another justified option)
• The connection assembly to the tractor's PTO
• The loading hopper
• The discharge pipe
• Protective covers
• The wheeled base
• Tensioning mechanisms
• All fastening and assembly units
5. Deliverables
• SolidWorks output files
• A complete set of drawings in PDF format
• Specification
• Assembly drawings
• Detailing
• Section
• Render of the finished product (for commercial use)
6. Important Requirements
• The design must be suitable for serial production
• Consider the manufacturability of production (laser cutting, bending, welding)
• Minimize complex turning operations
• Ensure operational safety
• The appearance should be modern and distinct from existing models on the market
7. Work Procedure
After selecting the contractor, the first model of the shredder will be developed.
We will produce a prototype and conduct testing.
If the result is satisfactory, the contractor will be given the development of the entire line of models specified in this technical assignment.
8. Additional Requirements for the Contractor
Experience in the following areas is preferred:
• Development of agricultural or garden machinery
• Understanding of the dynamics of rotating mechanisms
• Ability to perform structural strength calculations
• Experience in designing products intended for serial production
9. Deadlines and Budget
The project deadlines and budget will be discussed individually with the selected contractor.
