Мне сложно ответить на Ваш вопрос, что такое запекание и разверстка, т.к. этим вопросом не владею.
Для этого показал, как это реализовано на другом сайте.
Есть "голые" 3Д, которые нужно одеть в ткани и подставить нужную ножку + выбрать цвет на ножке.

Та я так понимаю, там уже развёртка должна быть в любом случае.. А тут нужен механизм отображения и смены материалов "на лету"

Ми вже маємо 3D моделі -- тобто тут роботи для тридешників вже нема. тож категорія зайва. просто прибрати її

Ну, для 3D-шника тоже работа может быть, смотря что там по моделям. Обычно они слишком детализированы, кучу ненужной информации приходится передавать по сети и обрабатывать браузером.. Вот недавно у меня была модель кровати с выдвижными ящичками - так там были промоделированы даже шарики внутри механизма выдвижения, которые даже не видно снаружи! И причём все 100500 шариков одним большим мэшем. И часто например дублирующиеся элементы в таких моделях тупо склонированы, вместо того, чтоб использовать одну геометрию для всех клонов. Я уже не говорю про лишнюю детализацию или вершины для соблюдения так сказать "правильной" топологии..

Я маю на увазі shared geometry, чи як це можна назвати. А інстанси теж чудово зберігаються в .gltf та інтерпритуються наприклад three.js як InstancedMesh.
