We are looking for a typesetter to layout a book.
The volume is approximately 450 thousand characters.
There are samples for format and size.
Fonts are available. All materials are ready.
We expect:
- experience in book typesetting, knowledge of the specifics of the work;
- independence, discipline, responsibility;
- ability to work with deadlines.
The book must contain maps. If you can process illustrations (add titles in Ukrainian, edit, etc.) - this will be an additional part of the task. If not - this work will be done by a separate specialist.
Work cycle:
- you perform the typesetting according to the specifications
- the editor proofreads the typesetting, provides a list of errors in writing, you need to make corrections (hanging lines, incorrect breaks, split abbreviations, and other possible errors in the text and typesetting)
- the editor checks the quality of the corrections made (whether all have been made, whether they have been made correctly)
- the maximum number of iterations for corrections is 3.
(if you also perform processing of maps - this is an additional task that is done in a similar cycle).

Good day. The task is clear: layout of a book (~450 thousand characters) based on the provided materials with further iterations of edits up to 3 rounds. I have practical experience in layout design for print in Adobe InDesign, I have a good understanding of typography, hyphenation, control of "orphan" lines, and preparation for printing.
I work in a structured manner: first, I gather the basic layout (styles, grid, hierarchy), then proceed with step-by-step layout with intermediate checks to minimize the number of edits. I set deadlines at the start and adhere to them without delays.
One detail: I immediately set up paragraph and character styles so that most edits (hyphenation, spacing, emphasis) can be made centrally — this significantly speeds up the final iterations.
I can refine the maps: captions in Ukrainian, basic processing.
Timeline: 12–16 days (considering 3 iterations).
