About the project:
We are developing a product for backup cloud infrastructure and on-premise.The product consists of a variety of components that use AWS services EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS and others.Part of our product is the file filter driver, which is used to capture I/O operations on the disk and record the address and size of the record buffer.This information is used for the formation of incremental backs.The second task of these drivers is Live-Restore, which is to restore data to the disk and provide instant access to recoverable data during the restore.What to do:
Your main task will be to implement the live-restore function, now it is in the MVP state and there is a lack of functionality - Delta Restore (or intrinsic data recovery)
Live-restore is a possibility to virtually submit recoverable data to the disk.The driver catches the record reading requests and if the request goes to the block that has not yet been restored, then the data is taken from the repository and transferred to the system, if the requested data has already been restored then the request is simply passed further to the ntfs driver.The Copy-on-Write mechanism is also implemented to enable recording on the disk at the time of recovery.The estimated amount of work is about 1 month.But the final assessment will still be agreed with the executor.Delta-restore - the possibility of recovering only modified data regarding the last recovery point.This feature will be based on Live-restore functionality.The estimated amount of work is about 1 month.But the final assessment will still be agreed with the executor.
