We are looking for a talented and creative artist to create illustrations on the theme of contemporary Christian art.
Our team is launching an exciting new project – modern illustrations that reinterpret biblical narratives through the lens of creativity and spirituality. We aim to find an artist who can breathe new life into classic themes, making them accessible and understandable for a contemporary audience. The ideal candidate should have:
- The ability to create deep and meaningful illustrations that not only depict biblical narratives but also convey their emotional power.
- The capacity to interpret classic themes in a contemporary artistic language so that they resonate in the viewer's soul.
- Experience in digital illustration and proficiency in software for creating professional works.
- An understanding of religious themes (believers will have an advantage), but most importantly – the ability to approach each narrative with genuine interest and respect.
Project Scope
- Create 60 unique illustrations for biblical narratives (a list of narratives will be provided).
Project Details
Your task will be to create 60 original illustrations (at least 50) for biblical narratives. We are looking for an artist who can reinterpret these stories, offering new visual approaches that reflect the spiritual depth of each. We want your works to convey not only events but also the meaning, feelings, and emotions embedded in these stories.
The process of creating illustrations involves your personal immersion in each narrative (short in length stories) to understand its essence and visualize it through your unique style. It is important to us that each work is alive, filled with energy, and aligns with contemporary Christian views.
We have already chosen the style of illustrations we want to orient ourselves towards (examples attached), but the final look will be approved with the artist. We are open to your creative approach if you can propose a style that resonates with our main (example 1-6) or alternative concept (example 7-10). Ultimately, we aim to create a series of illustrations that will captivate and inspire the audience.
Candidate Requirements
- A portfolio that demonstrates your artistic taste and style.
- The ability to convey creative vision through unique images.
- Responsibility, organization, and the ability to work within established deadlines.
- Believing Christians will have an advantage, but we are also open to candidates who share an interest in spiritual themes.
Budget
- For the development of 60 illustrations: $1,500 ($25 per illustration).
Deadline
10 weeks:
- The first 10 illustrations must be completed by September 29 of this year.
- The remaining (50 illustrations) – by November 20 of this year.
From you at this stage:
- A portfolio that demonstrates your style and ability to work in a similar aesthetic.
- Indication of how much time you need to create one illustration in our style.
- A list of software you work with and your technical skills.
After reviewing the portfolio, selected candidates will be invited to complete a test task (paid) – creating an illustration for one of the biblical narratives.
