Project Description Looking for a 2D Game VFX Artist / Sprite FX Artist for a browser-based 2D MMORPG in the dark fantasy style. I already have combat animations implemented in PixiJS, so no coding is required. I need help specifically with graphic VFX assets: improving existing sprites or suggesting a new effect with new animation frames. I will integrate everything into PixiJS myself, so I only need high-quality graphic files and a clear frame structure from the performer.What Needs to Be Done Work is needed on combat effects: sword hit effect; magic hit effect; block effect; shield impact; shield break; miss / dodge effect; dust; speedlines; glow; particles; slash trail; magic trail; impact burst; arcane portal / magic dodge; crit / lucky / counter visual effects.There Are Two Types of Tasks1. Improve Current Sprites For example, there is already a ready effect, but it looks weak. It needs to: be made brighter; have cleaner outlines; remove excess noise; enhance glow / impact / particles; make the effect more readable in combat; maintain approximate size and direction so I can easily replace the file in PixiJS.2. Suggest a New Version of the Effect If the current effect is weak, a new animation variant can be suggested. For example: different sword slash; better hit impact; stronger shield break; more beautiful magic block; more understandable miss/dodge effect; new portal effect for the mage; more dynamic dust/speedline effect. In this case, a set of frames or a sprite sheet needs to be prepared, which I will then connect in PixiJS myself.What Is NOT Needed No need to: write PixiJS code; build React; integrate assets into the game; change combat logic; draw characters; create 3D; make a complete animation system. Format the text (font selection, structure, and layout). 2. Design the background and add graphic elements (search for images and videos on the designer's side). 3. Add photos in a slideshow format (I will provide). 4. Add videos (I will provide). 5. Format hyperlinks. Design type: moderate minimalism, but the design will change depending on the section of the document (there will be a total of 4 parts, which I will provide gradually). I am looking for someone to prepare several illustrations (currently from one to seven) related to my novel (fantasy genre - I can easily share excerpts to check the atmosphere). To start, I need one graphic depicting a character (one of four, with plans to show a group as well), followed by two shots of objects, including one characteristic of the novel's world. All scenes would be based on my (fairly accurate) descriptions and narrative context, if needed. Initially simple, static, without dynamics. More expressive, spectacular ones can come later. The style I have in mind is a sketch on a texture resembling parchment (for example, sharp, fragmented, unfinished, focusing on a selected fragment, blurring the rest - something in that direction) or full black and white. Something that looks like notes from a wandering artist, without access to a full palette of paints and brushes.The graphics would be used for "propaganda," encouraging people to enter this world. I would place them on my Instagram profile, possibly someday in a gallery on my author website, but for now, I don't have such a place or opportunity. If the collaboration goes well, I could return with more commissions, as there is plenty of material. I am at the stage of my first publication, without an advance, so my budget for illustrations is still modest. In the book, we talk about how books are created and what a book is in general. Its history, invention, different formats and implementations, printing, editing, about paper and various publishing things. There are 5 chapters that cover everything that might interest a child, from the perspective of the book itself. The character-Book interacts with the reader and her character-Author. There are many illustrations in the form of comic conversations between the Author and the Book. It includes interesting sections such as a book questionnaire, a book diary, and a map of festivals.
