Calculation of a simple pipe: One-way FSI ANSYS CFX or Fluent → ANSYS Mechanical
Subject: One-way FSI calculation of the pipeline (ANSYS CFX/Fluent → ANSYS Mechanical)
Good day, colleagues.
It is necessary to perform a one-way FSI calculation for a simple pipeline
(straight pipe → 90° elbow → straight pipe → 90° elbow → straight pipe)
in conjunction with ANSYS CFX → ANSYS Mechanical or ANSYS Fluent → ANSYS Mechanical.
Planned task setup:
perform a transient CFD calculation in ANSYS CFX or Fluent;
determine the distribution of pressure (and, if necessary, shear stresses) on the inner surface of the pipe;
transfer transient loads to ANSYS Mechanical;
calculate the stressed-deformed state of the structure without the reverse influence of deformations on the flow
(one-way FSI, without System Coupling).
Expected result:
correctly configured calculation in Workbench;
results of CFD and structural analysis;
brief description of the methodology and assumptions made.
Please indicate in your response:
the solver used (CFX or Fluent);
experience in performing FSI / one-way FSI calculations - but not mandatory;
cost and estimated completion time.
