    Вам не нужно MSVS , вам нужно устанвить  cmake + make . cmake сам соберет и приготовит код . А make собереть , ну то есть откомпилирует в рабочую программу

    Оно как бы уже неактуально и не совсем в тему, но cmake/make используют компилятор (MSVC, gcc, etc.) для сборки, и сами по себе ничего откомпилировать не могут 🙂
